THE
COLLIFLOWERS

ABOUT

Byron Bay/Northern Rivers indie-rock outfit The Colliflowers have made a habit of infatuating audiences all across Australia with their high-energy live show, catchy melodies, sun-soaked guitar riffs, and powerful drum sounds.

ā€‹

Gary Collocott (vocals, guitar), Nelson Ludeke (lead guitar), Rachael Goddard (drums) and Alex Pereira (bass) take inspiration from legendary acts such as Dire Straits, Steely Dan, and The Eagles alongside contemporary artists Sam Fender, Lime Cordiale, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Ocean Alley. Their music fuses indie rock, reggae, and pop to craft a sound that is both captivating and infectious.

ā€‹

The Colliflowers’ live performances are a must-see, delivering an unforgettable experience that resonates with the energy and dynamism of their unique sound. Since 2022, the band have embarked on national tours with DICE and The VANNS, made festival appearances at Spaced Out (QLD), Tone City Records Festival (WA), and Byron Music Festival (NSW), and supported acclaimed acts such as Pacific Avenue, Sun Room (USA), Old Mervs, Rum Jungle, and South Summit.

ā€‹

Following the success of their singles ‘Devil’s Child’ and ‘Undertow’, which garnered rave reviews and exclusive premieres from both Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, The Colliflowers are yet again back on the new music radar with their third single of 2024, ‘Ordinary People’ - a funky indie rock anthem with similar sounds to Parcels, Ocean Alley and The Jungle Giants

Be sure to catch the band live as they embark on a 9-date east coast headline tour this Spring! Tickets are on sale now - don't miss out!

MUSIC

"With their electric bendy guitar licks and emotionally charged lyrics, watching The Colliflowers play was like witnessing a delightful musical orgy of layered sounds that just worked so damn well."

Stephanie Jewell, The Rockpit

“Big ups, you guys. The blend of smoked-out psych and modern Australian rock is done with the same kind of vibe as locals such as Ocean Alley, Vanilla Gorilla, and more.”

Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J

"The Colliflowers sound, a fusion of classic Aussie rock with a sprinkle of indie magic, is the kind of musical elixir that we obsess over here at Happy Mag."

Tammy Moir, Happy Mag

"Definitely makes sense that both DICE and The Vanns have swept you up on their tours! You've got that sound perfect for a summer night at the pub!"

Sara Glaidous, Triple J

Undertow - The Colliflowers (Official Music Video)

The Official Music Video for The Colliflowers' new track 'Undertow' is here! We had a great time filming this piece of work in Ballina, NSW, Australia. We wanted to capture the feelings and emotions behind the track, while also metaphorically linking it to the experience of being caught in the tides of life. Directed by - Daniel Pereira & Alex Pereira Filmed and Edited by - Daniel Pereira Song recorded, mixed and mastered by: Sam Ford (Tone City Records, WA) Band members - Gary Collocott (vocals), Rachael Goddard (drums), Nelson Ludeke (lead guitar), Alex Pereira (bass) Stream 'Undertow' - https://ditto.fm/undertow_thecolliflowers Follow The Colliflowers šŸŒ¼ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecolliflowersband TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecolliflowersband Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thecolliflowers Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0dO6phXesjIuCd0nr1EKvO?si=z4g3M_1uR5qIQ0tM3eUbUA Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/au/artist/the-colliflowers/1625234192 Official Website: https://www.thecolliflowers.com Special thanks to the Theron and Visser families for letting us use their pool, and to @DanielPereiraYT for putting in all the effort to create this masterpiece! Daniel literally wore a wetsuit and snorkel gear to get some of these shots, and we could not be more grateful. Also a big thanks to Alex Pereira (bassist) for creating our insanely realistic props for the video. _____ LYRICS Intro: You put the lights out Until I sink down I wonder whatā€™s above me I kinda thought she loved me Verse: You put the light out Until I sink down I wonder whatā€™s above me Damn I kinda thought you loved me And while I spin out The weight is taking over me Iā€™m exactly where I wanna be So why do I feel differently? Chorus: And Iā€™ll try to swim against the tide Iā€™m never gonna run aground You wont ever see me drown And Iā€™ll decide when the time is right If only you could see me now You never seem to turn around Verse: My head is out of water The world is looking brighter I wanna go back where itā€™s quieter Whatā€™s the point of trying? Getting tired of fighting But when you hold me I'm feeling lonely I need to let go I wanna let go Chorus: And Iā€™ll try to swim against the tide Iā€™m never gonna run aground You wont ever see me drown And Iā€™ll decide when the time is right If only you could see me now You never seem to turn around Bridge: If only you could see me now Woah We knew eachother not that long ago Now weā€™re taken by the undertow We knew eachother not that long ago Now weā€™re taken by the undertow We knew eachother not that long ago Weā€™re taken by the undertow We knew eachother not that long ago Now weā€™re taken by the undertow Chorus: And Iā€™ll try to swim against the tide Iā€™m never gonna run aground You wont ever see me drown And Iā€™ll decide when the time is right If only you could see me now You never seem to turn around #thecolliflowers #indiemusic #byronbay #musicvideo #newmusic
